The Harmony of Pi 3.14…
What is Pi?
The human mind does not have the capacity to realize and move beyond a number that has an infinite sequence. Think about it… you can’t. We have issues analyzing such an idea because the Pi sequence has no end. Perhaps this is because of a common perspective that life operates on a straight line, from birth to death. Let’s take a closer look at what Pi is on this day 3/14/2012 – Pi Day.
Philosophical excerpt from The Harmony of Pi by Grant LaCorte
Much like Pi, faith is also irrational. Faith in its truest sense does not associate with any specific organized religion but rather is simply belief that the seemingly impossible is possible.
Faith is the source for human innovation. Faith removes us from finite perspectives to a cyclic perspective – a state of mind that our choices and consequences will continue beyond our organic existence.
The cyclic perspective is found in reproduction, innovation, peace and afterlife. Humans can live a fulfilled existence when they realize their existence is not modeled like a straight-line – beginning with birth and ending with death. They are fulfilled when they view their life as a continuous cycle – a circle – that contributes to all human beings continuing to innovate, express, and exist.
So, Faith = irrationality, irrationality = π thus, Faith = π, Pi is the manifestation of Faith.
The number Pi is essential to know the circumferance of a circle just as faith is essential to know a harmonious life. With that being we must identify the other variable within the circumference formula – r.
Before we explore the formula let us define the importance of the circle.
The circle is the unifying form integrating, unifying, connecting, joining, separating, and, therefore, producing, all entities, real, ideal and symbolic. Circle is the accurate word for unit (whole).
This whole is what I refer to as fulfillment. The everything in our existence is founded in circles. We turn to Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity.
E=mc2 is Einstein’s conservation of energy relationship. Energy is conserved as a relationship of mass and the speed of light. Energy, mass and light are related and joined within a closed system, and, therefore, as a basic circle. The circular relationship(s) among energy, mass and light, is an essential key to understanding reality.
We have found evidence that the circle path calculated by the circumference formula = ’2πr’ where ‘r’ equals ‘radius’ is the foundation for our existence. Now we use the circle formula to define human fulfillment.
The radius is represented by “r” in 2πr. The radius is exactly half of the circle’s length and in order to know the distance around the circle, you must have two radii. Now, a circle is only a circle if the radii are equal at all forever. I say forever because the amount of points on a circle is infinite – there is no beginning or end of the circle. I emphasize this idea to transition to the fulfillment formula.
Like the circumference formula, my “Harmony Formula” relies on the same ’2πr’ relationship. The Harmony Formula requires two absolute equal “r” variables as well. The variable ‘r’ represents any human and ‘π’ represents Faith. So, when two absolutely equal humans have Faith in one another, then they can know and live the path around the circle and experience the fulfilled life.
Now, when I refer to equality of humans, I do not mean in stature, status, wealth or otherwise but rather in perspective. Both humans have faith that the other is equal and will treat as equal. True harmony cannot be experienced if one seeks to dominate or rise above the other. If this occurs the circle will lose its shape and the humans will lose their way along their path. I first apply the fulfillment formula to human reproduction.
Fulfillment is achieved when a men and women come together with Faith in each other’s equal value. The recognition of the human counterpart requires that each accept each other as beautifully different equals. This recognition is Faith and it is manifested in reproduction.
The [circle] is used to represent maturational and generational processes driven by reproduction. – O’Rand
Through sexual intercourse, a man and woman’s genetics are combined to form a new child. This child brings both the father and the mother’s genetics into the world in a new life. The man and woman complete their circle path with the birth of the newborn. Next we address the formula with innovation.
Human innovation is defined by mimesis. Human society is able progress and mature because we infinitely building the ideas of the past.
This circular process involves many different collaborations and requires the constant inflow of new information. – Berkhou.
The “r” variable in this circumstance represents present human and past human. Present human must have Faith that past human had Faith in past human when he or her she was present human. That is to say, human innovation is an infinite process of learning from the past to create a future. If one does not respect the past he or she will not be able to see what the future can hold. The human that has Faith in his ancestor will walk and know the fulfilled path but those who ignore the past will be lost. As philosopher George Santayana said, “Those forget history are doomed to repeat it.” Next, we move to peace.
True human peace is created through unity. As Pi taught us in the novel that respecting and loving your fellow human is to have faith in human equality. This faith creates unity. True Peace does operate on temporality. True Peace lasts because humans have Faith in each other’s equality. Peace is thus created for the present and the future. The fulfilled path is realized when equal humans – “r” variables – have Faith – π – in each other. Lastly, we address fulfillment derived from human will.
Fulfillment is found when a human has Faith in self. Here the”r” variable is the human observer and the perceived self. If the human observer values the perceived self as an absolute equal then he or she will know the fulfilled path. It is the idea that if a man or woman is without insecurity has Faith in their will he or she can achieve anything. Nietzsche’s Will to Power describes a distortion of this concept.
The stronger becomes master of the weaker, in so far as the latter cannot assert its degree of independence – here there is no mercy, no forbearance, even less a respect for ‘laws.’ – Nietzsche
Nietzsche fails to recognize the human capacity to exist without dominance. Fulfillment can only be gained with equality so, we interpret “stronger” to mean enlightened. We interpret “master” to be the combination of Faith and Unity or the fulfilled and we interpret “weaker” to mean unfulfilled. We continue and understand that “the latter cannot assert its degree of independence” because those with out Faith cannot know Unity and thus cannot walk the circular path of the fulfilled life. Finally we realize that “here there is no mercy, no forbearance, even less a respect for ‘laws.’” There is no need for mercy because on the fulfilled path there is no suffering or “forbearance.” And, there is no respect “laws” because these are human laws meant to save us from harming ourselves. On the fulfilled path there is only one law – Faith in your fellow human.
Is it Harmony? Or, is it Chaos?
Have a Happy Pi day!
