Is Kanye West Competing with Jesus?

Kanye West is hot in the news again. Last year people were buzzing about the artist because he was set to perform at Coachella 2011. Now, in 2012, Kanye West is hot across the media waves for two reasons, his newest musical releases and his newest squeeze.

In typical Kanye-fashion, the rapper is commanding the limelight on a day usually reserved to acknowledge the savior of all Christians, Jesus Christ.
 
Good Friday is all about recognizing the Passion of the Christ. No I am not talking Mel Gibson’s gory blockbuster biopic but rather the moments leading up to the crucifixion of Jesus, a sacrifice made to wash clean the sins of the world, according to Christian texts.

Well Kanye was not to be out done by Jesus today, so he released his newest track titled, ‘Mercy’ – very fitting on Good Friday.

Kanye’s other new release, Theraflu was leaked yesterday and it seems that industry reps are scrambling across the internet to take down the release. Listen while you can, I have a feeling this video will be removed very soon.
 

 
Kanye does deserve praise for his latest releases. Mercy is an amazing collaboration of the rap-world’s hottest musicians. I am often overwhelmed by the commentary that surrounds Kanye’s music and persona. So, I let a real fan describe his new music. Check out this review of Kanye’s Theraflu. This guy is light-hearted, excited and hilarious.

Aside from his new music, Kanye is also in the news because he is now dating Kim Kardashian. This explains a lot about the bashing he delivers to arguably the most hated player ion the NBA, Kris Humphreys, in the track Theraflu.
