Journey of The Moon Mandala
Jamie Kaminskas is The Moon Mandala
Jamie fed from her mother’s influence and trail blazed a creative path into college, studying art at Arizona State University. After traveling abroad in Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, and Ecuador, Jamie’s perspective expanded. Immersion in external cultures helps an individual grow immensely. Jamie now embraces exotic dream-scapes as subject matter for her work.
I find ever-flowing inspiration in the cycles and patterns of Nature- from the beautiful and diverse energies of the Earth, to the symbols brought forth in dreams, to the inner realms of the human body, mind, and soul. Art is the doorway through which I enter in order to explore these patterns and translate them into visual language. – J.K.
Jamie’s childlike affinity for the intricate beauty and wonder of nature was reignited by her adventures. She see each new day as a gift and a chance to connect to this world and the creatures in it, on a deep and spiritual level. Jamie is out there wandering with the rest of us, finding herself by recognizing the divinity of the natural world.
I remember meeting Jamie in 6th grade and I remember immediately recognizing that there was something different about her. Jamie’s Presence was far more profound than any of the other young middle schoolers. She was ahead of her time. She was peculiar. I didn’t know what made her different then but I think we are all finding out now and it is something special. Perhaps, she has been here before. I feel that she is an Old Soul.
Jamie and I talked music the other day. We were trying to figure out a great song to accompany her work. Names like Random Rab, Shpongle and Beats Antique immediately came to our minds. I kept searching. I wanted to find something sultry, ambient and experimental. Please press play and peruse my friends.
