YACHT Sets the Earth on Fire
Hailing from Portland, Oregon, Marfa, Texas, and Los Angeles, CA, YACHT is a rock band that is conducted by members Jona Bechtolt and Claire L. Evans.
“All people are welcome to become members of YACHT. Accordingly, YACHT is what YACHT is when YACHT is standing before you.”
The group was born in Portland in 2002 as a “solo-cross disciplinary experiment” for Bechtolt who sought to extend physical boundaries of performance, music, and communication through the use of technology. Evans joined up with him in 2008 “after a shared mystical experience in the Far West Texas desert.”
These songs below are featured tracks off of their most recent album in 2011 called Shangri-La. The tunes are genre smashers and deserve to be played in your ears as loud as possible.
