New Noize from the Boy
Alex Ridha, more commonly known as German producer Boys Noize, has released a little taste of his third album, to be released on October 2. This album, Out of the Black, will be released on his label Boys Noize Records. Ridha explains that the album name is rooted in the fact that he mainly produces his music in the darkness of night. “This is What You Want,” the album’s opening track released today, attempts to emulate the “raw and rough sound” of his earlier music according t0 Rolling Stone. If you are a fan of Mr. Ridha’s music from the start, you understand this style of sound that he offers. It can be identified from a mile away, but his productions always keep us guessing. It has been quite some time since Ridha has released new music under his own moniker, and I have to say, this song is keeping me excited for more.
“This particular track was inspired by the vibes I get from the Beastie Boys, for instance,” Ridha told Rolling Stone. “Their Licensed to Ill album is one of my all-time favorite records, and to me ‘What You Want’ has some sort of B-boy style mixed with my obsession on robot vocals and modern sound aesthetics. This song combines a lot of things I love about electronic music.”
