International Basketball Superstars

The excitement surrounding international basketball has been even more invigorated by the 2012 Olympics. The 2012 NBA season may have ended with Lebron, Dwayne’s and the rest of the Heat’s victory in the NBA Finals but the international love for the game has flared even more as countries battle it out for hard-wood glory and gold. I stumbled across these unique illustrations from the 2010 World basketball festival, enjoy.

The artist’s assignment was to create a unique illustration style for the branding of the World Basketball Festival held in NYC from August 12- 15. After seven months of hard work they created more than 40 basketball players, Pop legends, numerous sneakers, NYC iconography, and additional elements that capture the spirit of the festival.
