Cubic Seas of 3-D Animation

mr-div2

Matthew DiVito, the self-proclaimed “Mr. Div” and motion-arts mad-man, is an aspiring game developer and earning his animation and modeling chops. He is developing a finely tuned skill with the software packages Maya by Autodesk and Adobe’s AfterEffects – as evident by his work below. I invite you to press play on one of my favorite songs right now by GEOGRAPHER and scroll down to map through this tumultuous sea of 3-D Animations.

Questions for Matthew

Q: Age/Sex/Locale?

A: 26 / male / Boston, MA

Q: What software do you use?

A: I use some combination of After Effects and Cinema 4D for all of my gifs. To actually save out the gif files I use Photoshop.

Q: Can you make a tutorial?

A: Maybe someday. In the meantime, if you have any specific questions about how I made any of my gifs feel free to ask or email me at matthewdivito (at) gmail (dot) com.

Q: Can I use your gifs for [something]?

A: Generally speaking, you can use my gifs for non-commercial purposes as long as you make sure to credit me and link back to this blog. If you aren’t sure if what you want to do is ok or are interested in licensing my gifs for commercial use email me at matthewdivito (at) gmail (dot) com.

Q: I’m a musician interesting in collaborating…

A: Generally speaking, I’m not interested in unpaid collaborations with musicians, but if you have a budget feel free to contact me at (you guessed it) matthewdivito (at) gmail (dot) com.

Q: So, you’re an aspiring game developer, eh?

A: That’s right – you can play one of my games right here. I’ve got a problem though: I’m not a super skilled programmer, so If you’re a programmer with game making experience looking to collaborate drop me a line at (drumroll) matthewdivito (at) gmail (dot) com.
