Adidas Releases Trailer for Derrick Rose Comeback
Any basketball fan who closely follows the NBA will tell you that they cringed and felt terrible for Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose when he tore his ACL in the first round of the 2012 playoffs. It was tough to watch, not necessarily because the injury looked bad (it did), but because it was dissatisfying knowing that one of the NBA’s hardest workers and greatest competitors had suffered yet another setback. Rose battled injuries the entire season and had worked extremely hard to get back healthy for the playoffs. The Bulls’ locker room was so quiet and somber after the game it was if someone had died. Injuries happen all the time in the NBA, but this one was especially devastating.
Rose amply personifies what it means to be a leader and face of an organization. He’s accountable, has a strong work ethic, and is extremely positive and humble when he talks to the media. On his consistenly updated Facebook page, he constantly thanks fans for their support and offers cool insights into his life. That is why I’m particulary excited about a new video series from Rose’s sponsor, Adidas, which will chronicle his return from injury. The cool trailer below invites fans to join D Rose on his journey back to the hardwood. Pretty motivating.
Good luck D Rose! Along with the trailer I decided it’d be fit to throw in some retro photos of D Rose during his high school years in Chicago. Photos courtesy of Sports Illustrated.
