Formula One Driver Reaches 190mph going through Lincoln Tunnel
In America, race-car driving is dominated by NASCAR. In Europe, Formula One reigns supreme. Despite this, Formula One is attempting to get America’s attention by holding a race in New Jersey scheduled for next year. As an early promotion for the event, F1 driver David Calthard recently drove a Red Bull F1 show car through the Lincoln Tunnel and reached an incredible top speed of 190 mph. The tunnel connects New Jersey to Manhattan and is one of America’s signature roadways. F1 cars are higher performing than those of NASCAR because they go faster and are able to make quick turns. While the F1 race is still months away, any American publicity for F1 is good publicity.
