Director Alex Prager is beginning to look like one of the most transcendent directive photographers of the last century. Critics attempt to categorize her work by era – 20′s, 30′s, 40′s, 50′s, 60′s, 70′s, 80′s – but no one can agree!  Alex Prager’s main medium is short films and photography – she provides glimpses.  Although most of her work stands in still-frame or lasts for only about a minute, she is able to capture Hitchcockian suspense and allure with ease.

Prager’s recent work includes a captivating homage to timeless movie villains. Recruiting the acting finesse of Brad Pitt, Ryan Gosling, Viola Davis, Mia Wasikowski, Gary Oldman, Kirsten Dunst and more; Prager created the cinematic spread for the New York Times Magazine and it does not disappoint.
