Drivers Survive Horrifying Plunge off Colorado Mountain
“Oh Sh**!”
These were race car driver Jeremy Foley’s last words before his Mitsubishi Evolution 8 plummeted off a sharp turn at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in Colorado. Foley and co-driver Yuri Kouznetsov are both in stable condition after their car rolled over 12 times down a vertical cliff.
Dubbed “The Race to the Clouds,” drivers must make 156 sharp turns up the mountain on a course that is just 12.4 miles long. Crashes have occurred before on exactly the same turn that doomed Foley and Kouznetsov. I guess that’s why they call it “The Devil’s Playground.”
