Hamburg-born Alex Ridha has held onto the reigns of hard electronic for many years whilst masterminding his label Boys Noize Records. It has been some time since Ridha has released any solo productions, due to dedicating the last few years to continuously hitting every major festival around the world while working on collaborations with Mr. Oizo, Erol Alkan and many others.  I have to admit that I have quite the sweet spot for Boys Noize. In my eyes, he can do no wrong. But for those of you who have ever doubted him, there’s a good chance his newest album will change that.

Out of the Black, expectedly but especially, roars from the darkness at the start of the first song “What You Want.” Ridha does not ease his way into this album with an introduction but sets off with this booming, subwoofer-shaking, bombast track. The first two tracks “What You Want” and “XTC” – both early releases – encompass the essence of Ridha’s signature bass-heavy grind. However, this album exceeds this with a handful of completely unexpected tracks. He lays out an array of styles and sounds especially among his collaborations with Grizzle, Siriusmo and Snoop Dog. Grizzle’s track “Circus Full of Clowns” relies on a hip hop bounce while “Rocky 2″ in on the acid rock train. “Reality” and “Ich R U” bring more melodic elements into his work with harmonicas synthesized with a head-banging rhythm.

Give the tracks a listen below or go purchase the album here. Then be sure to catch Boys Noize on his first LIVE tour (dates and video below).
